Ramster Hall is an beautiful venue in the Surrey countryside. Rosie Glaister approached me in 2009 about taking on the role as their in-house DJ from the beginning of 2011. It turned out well for me because their previous DJ retired a year early and I started at Ramster in January 2010.
I really enjoy working at Ramster Hall. Not only is it an amazing venue, it’s a family home too and I genuinely feel at home when I’m there.
At first glance, it might seem like an imposition to be the only DJ that performs at Ramster Hall. It’s not quite true because I occasionally take a day off and sometimes I have a booking elsewhere. That’s why it’s important to have a team of DJs who know the venue and how to get the best results on your wedding day. I know that searching for a good DJ can take a lot of time too.
It also means that I have to be flexible in what I offer at Ramster Hall and accommodate a variety of different musical styles and requirements from each client. After all, it’s your wedding day so the evening party should be the way that you want it.
Sometimes clients give me a play list for the evening and some clients let me ‘go with the flow’ and use artistic license to play great music based on dance floor reaction. In reality, a compromise can work really well – some requests and some input from me (or one of my colleagues) too.
I’ve spent a lot of time (and money!) on equipment that is dedicated for use in The Long Hall. It’s simple to set up so the music can be up and running about 30 minutes after you finish your wedding breakfast and speeches. If you go for tea & coffee in The Great Drawing Room, it will be set up and ready to go when you get back. We’ve received lots of compliments from photographers about the lighting in The Long Hall and how it makes for great pictures.
The main thing for me is that I’ve performed at lots of amazing parties at Ramster Hall. It’s a superb venue for a party – the bar is in the same room as the dancing which keeps your guests together. If you’re getting married in the summer there are very good curtains, so we can start the dancing whilst it’s still light outside.
There is an in built sound system in The Great Drawing Room that you can use for music during your wedding ceremony. If you’d like me to to look after the music in your ceremony, I offer this as an option but it costs a little bit more to cover my time. I also offer the option of music in the courtyard and in The Long Hall during your wedding breakfast, again for a small additional cost to cover my time and equipment hire.
There’s more good news too: because I’m the in-house DJ I offer a specially discounted rate all year round for your wedding entertainment at Ramster Hall. It’s an exclusive deal that means we can do things properly without cutting any corners.
I tend to get booked up about 12-18 months ahead, so please do get in contact at the earliest opportunity.
I’d also like to share this testimonial with you, it really sums up the service that I’m aiming to offer:
‘We would just like to say how great it was having you arrange the music at our wedding. The service you offer is one of the best I have ever experienced.
From the day we met you we knew we were in safe hands, and we especially liked your great website with its request system enabling us and our guests to choose our own music, and incorporate this into our wedding invitations.
On the actual day you quietly arranged things in the background during the day, and once it became time for the first dance in the evening you calmly welcomed us to the dance floor which suited our day so well. The music was great all night and we had people dancing all night long, and some had not danced for many years, which just goes to show how great the music was.
Nothing was too much trouble for you, it was all done with a smile!
I would not hesitate in using your services again and recommending you to family and friends for any events that maybe planned in the future.
Thank you once again!’
